O day 2013

breakfast = oatmeal + orange juice

As we drove to our first Letter adventure for the day, we saw a giant Oklahoma flag at the car dealership west of the river on I-44. (This image is from TripAdvisor; it is too dangerous to take pictures while driving!)

We visited the Oklahoma Aquarium

where we saw an octopus and watched the otter feeding.

The kids had to wait for the fish food stand to open so they could feed shrimp to the stingrays.

We learned about oceans.

At the bakery we ordered a cake for a cousin who is going to OU. Here's my sketch of his mom's design idea:

We visited the Council Oak Tree, an important part of Native American and Tulsa history since long before statehood.

We have an old oak tree in our front yard, too.

J and S played a game of Othello.

snack = onion dip with Ruffles (which E noticed were "Original") + oranges

The boys read some of the many One Piece comic books by Eiichiro Oda that they have checked out from the library.

Later I talked with the kids about my reasons for being an organ donor. Please consider giving this priceless gift of life, and tell your family about your decision. You can sign up with the Oklahoma Donor Registry. I did!

At dinner, T tried an olive:

And then we watched The Wizard of Oz.
